CATHECHETICAL DEPARTMENT
The Catechetical Department provides direction, training, and encouragement for the Christian community of the Diocese of Kigoma. It promotes the moral and material welfare of the faithful by ensuring that the Word of God is proclaimed, taught, and lived in every parish and Small Christian Community.
The department accompanies catechists in their mission of transmitting the faith, prepares the faithful for the sacraments, and animates ongoing catechesis for children, youth, and adults in line with the teaching of the Catholic Church.

Objectives
- Coordinate catechesis and religious instruction in all parishes of the Diocese.
- Train, support, and accompany catechists in their apostolate.
- Prepare the faithful for the reception of the sacraments.
- Promote the moral and material welfare of the Christian community.
- Develop and distribute catechetical materials for all age groups.
- Strengthen faith formation in Small Christian Communities.
