LITURGY DEPARTMENT

The Liturgy Department is a pastoral-oriented department responsible for coordinating all liturgical celebrations within the Diocese. It organizes training sessions and seminars on liturgy, including updates and changes that require proper guidance and instruction.

The department serves as a link between the Diocese of Kigoma, the National Liturgical Secretariat, and the Vatican. It ensures the proper implementation of directives and resolutions from both national and universal Church levels.

The head of the department oversees the effective functioning of liturgical committees at both parish and diocesan levels, ensuring unity, order, and proper celebration of the liturgy.

Mission

To coordinate and animate the liturgical life of the Diocese so that all celebrations are carried out with reverence, unity, and order, in accordance with the norms of the Church.

Vision

A Diocese whose liturgical celebrations are full, conscious, and active participation of the faithful in the mystery of Christ.

  • Organize training sessions and seminars on liturgy, including updates and changes that require proper guidance.
  • Implement directives and resolutions from the National Liturgical Secretariat and the Vatican.
  • Oversee the effective functioning of liturgical committees at parish and diocesan levels.
  • Form liturgical ministers such as lectors, acolytes, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, and choirs.
